Franken-Son PP02 monitoring

Franken-Son is essentially a manually flown CCR, with buffered 02 addition by virtue of the KISS valve. With that being the case, we need to have at least 2 (and better yet 3) PP02 displays, and possibly some decompression information. I elected to manufacture a 3 sensor PP02 monitor and also to install a VR-3 for tertiary PP02 measurement as well as decompression measurement, etc. Let's see how it's done:

Basically, I decided to use my second generation 3-sensor PP02 meter, as well as one of the new model VR-3's. The 3 sensor meter has it's own page (below), and the VR-3 needs a special sensor holder made, which also has it's own page. Follow the links below.

Here is the work of art, the new aluminum billet-machined 3-sensor PP02 meter. I was so pleased with this that I gave it it's own page. Go see what it looks like and then come back!

The first attempt to make a 3 sensor meter was handicapped by my (then) lack of a milling machine. This is a simpler version that works just as well, and which is a LOT easier to build Go have a look!

The new VR-3 is about 2/3 the size of the old "Brick" and has some upgrades, not the least of which is a game that you can play while on deco. It senses the rig's PP02 and does deco accordingly, and has a zillion features. It's easy to use, extremely capable, works open or closed circuit, with external PP02 or not, with any diluent, etc., etc. Best thing is that it actually WORKS, not like the piece of shit Abyss that failed to do anything other than utterly suck. But that's just my opinion, having had one Abyss and two VR-3's. I love mine, and recommend them without hesitation.

The VR-3 (old model shown) is only furnished with a fitting to read PP02 from an Inspiration. Well, I cured that problem. If you want to place one into a Dreager P-Connector, go see how to do it.

The last task is to Install a Draeger P-Connector into the counterlung. No need to fear, it's easy to do.
